Abstract:

In 2020, the first State of India's Birds report (website | pdf report) was launched -- this was the first comprehensive conservation assessment of the majority of bird species found in the country. Ten organisations partnered in the creation of the report.   Work on the second edition started last year, with the original ten partners, plus three more (all listed below). From CES, Umesh and Tarun have been anchoring the partnership.  The second edition of the State of India's Birds report is nearly ready, and the launch is planned for Friday, 25 August 2023, at the India International Centre in Delhi.  In advance of the launch, we wanted to share a draft of the report and go through some of the findings. Your feedback would be very valuable. Several others from the partnership will be present, and we hope to have a meaningful discussion.
